Clermont is famously known as the "Choice of Champions", as many world-class athletes choose to make Clermont their full-time training home. The city has many world-class athletics facilities, including the National Training Center, which is a training ground for elite athletes of all types. Runners flock to Clermont for the famous Clay Loop—a 10-mile clay road that offers runners a soft surface and beautiful green pastures.

For those who like their recreation a little more laid back, the Legends, King's Ridge, and Sanctuary Ridge offer first-class golfing. Clermont's many lakes are host to fishing tournaments and premier water sports, including recreational boating. 

For a dose of culture, Clermont offers annual events like Festival on the lake, Christmas in South Lake, Taste of South Lake, annual craft shows, and Winefest. Lakeridge Winery and Vineyards offer wine tours and tastings year-round.
