REALTOR Code of Ethics and RESPA

One of the differences between a REALTOR® and a real estate licensee is that REALTORS® have a sworn duty to uphold the Code of Ethics.  These are duties that are owed to the public, our customers and clients and to each other.  At Vantage Point Realty Co., we take that oath seriously.  We believe in the Golden Rule and we strive for excellence in all our dealings.

The Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA) is a consumer protection statute.  According to the Department of Housing and Urban Development, RESPA is intended to “help consumers become better shoppers for settlement services and to eliminate kickbacks and referral fees that unnecessarily increase the costs of certain settlement services.”

Vantage Point Realty Co. is a firm believer of transparency in dealings. This is one reason why we choose not to have any affiliated business arrangements with local lenders, title companies, home inspectors or other vendors whose work is related to real estate sales. We believe in working with those that are like minded, and understand the best interest of the customer is what we are serving.  We also believe we do not have to enter into affiliated business arrangements in order to best serve our customers.

Regulation X – The Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act.
